THE ROMAN BATHS

The extensive ruins and treasures from the spring are beautifully preserved and presented using the best of modern interpretation.

BATH ABBEY
Begun in 1499, Bath Abbey is the last of the great Medieval churches of England. The West Front is unique as it depicts the dream that inspired the Abbey's founder, Bishop Oliver King, to pull down the ruined Norman cathedral and raise the present building on its foundations.

BATH ASSEMBLY ROOMS
The Assembly Rooms were at the heart of fashionable Georgian society, the perfect venue for entertainment. When completed in 1771, they were described as 'the most noble and elegant of any in the kingdom'. Drop in and enjoy a spot of tea.

SALLY LUNN'S HOUSE AND MUSEUM
A house of charm and delight, the oldest in Bath. In the cellar museum, excavations show the remains of Roman, Saxon and Medieval buildings. Sally Lunn came in 1680 and worked in the kitchen/bakery with the ancient faggot oven. Here she created the delicacy named after her, the Sally Lunn Bun.

The most downloaded walk on the National Trust website, offering a vast swathe of Bath's south-east skyline landscape, famed for its wild flowers and elevated views.
